Dr Lovell-Smith

Here are two more patients with inflammatory diseases. I have known the first since he was a small boy. One day at the age of 14 he came to my surgery complaining of loss of weight, abdominal pain, bleeding from the bowel and feeling terrible. He had Crohn's disease. The graph shows C Reactive Protein (CRP), a measure of inflammation in the body. You can see his initial reading was far too high. His specialist predicted he would need an operation to remove the diseased bowel "before Christmas".

Within weeks of the DigestionReady programe he put on weight and his pain and bleeding stopped never to return.  He has taken no medication of any kind for this condition. His CRP, although not perfect, has remained well within an acceptable range.  Fourteen Christmases later he has completed a University degree and plays rugby professionally.

The second patient: Graves' Disease is an autoimmune condition in which antibodies stimulate the thyroid to overproduce thyroid hormones (hyperthyroidism). This patient came to me complaining of feeling hot, throwing off the bedclothes at night and feeling extremely anxious "as if always late for a bus."  The graph shows her thyroid hormone T4, over the last 16 years during which she has practised the principles of DigestionReady. She has been symptom free during that period. Apart from a few days at the beginning she has taken no medication for her thyroid condition.

Will it help me with my inflammatory disorder?

It may well transform your life. Although the results of case studies cannot be generalised,  we can be certain that had these patients not come across the DigestionReady programme, they would by now need regular pharmaceutical drugs and very possibly surgical operations.  We cannot know for sure if it will help you to the same degree, until formal studies have been done, however already powerful, carefully conducted Randomised Controlled Trials have shown that the DigestionReady principles improve insulin resistance and improve the gut microbiome.  Both of these play a large part in the inflammatory disorders.  Furthermore, the patients described above are among scores of patients that I have successfully treated over the last 30 years in this way.

First do no harm, is a universally accepted medical principle. The DigestionReady programme is a gentle regime.  By contrast, medication often has adverse effects, and surgery is invasive.  You have nothing to lose in trying DigestionReady. It may be all you need.
